The Amsterdam Museum creates their own audio experience for all temporary exhibitions.
Challenge
The Amsterdam DNA exhibition gives visitors an interactive tour of Amsterdam’s history. While this exhibition tells the history of the city, The Amsterdam Museum also offers other temporary exhibitions. To bring this all together for their 205.000 visitors a year, The Amsterdam Museum needed a new audio tour device that met all their needs and could integrate with their visual storytelling and existing interactive system. In fact, their goal was to elevate the overall experience with state-of-the-art audio tours offered throughout the museum.
Solution
Thanks to the flexibility of our audio guide system, we connected our Podcatchers audio guide to their existing technology. As a result, we also made it possible to collect visitors’ usage data and results from the interactive elements in the exhibition. Additionally, all audio tours are seamlessly integrated with these interactive elements for a cohesive visitor journey. Overall, this created a smooth and connected visitor journey throughout the museum.
Results
The audio guide pick-up rate is now 67,2%, with 60% of the visitors listening to at least half of the stops. Moreover, the extensive data collection helps The Amsterdam Museum to decide on changes in the audio tours and future exhibitions.
